National geographic conditions monitored with robot planes

Source:SBSM Author: Date:9/8/2011 Hits:1539

Recently severe draught hit China’s middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. To carry out the instructions of the central government leaders, the National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation (NASG) took emergency responses to mobilize robot planes to capture aerial images in Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi and Jiangsu. They organized data processing, made timely analysis and evaluation of the draught, and provided data of the geographic conditions to the relevant departments and local governments for draught relief.

NASG will continue to make a full use of their rich resources of geographic information and robot planes to strengthen the monitoring of the national geographic conditions and provide services for draught relief.
